General Medical Clinics PLC is a well-established provider of primary care in the City of London specialising in providing general practice, health screening services, occupational health programmes, physiotherapy, and nurse-led functions such as travel vaccinations.
The Group operates a number of private clinics in London and a NHS walk-in centre at Liverpool Street Station on behalf of the Department of Health. This centre was opened in December 2005 as the first privately run NHS walk-in centre in London.
In December 2006 General Medical Clinics PLC listed on the PLUS market. The objectives of the management team are to increase the profitability of the existing business and acquire other private healthcare companies.
Clinical excellence
We are committed to achieving the highest standards of care, attracting like-minded clinicians. Our retention levels are excellent and we operate a professional development programme for all clinical staff including monthly postgraduate seminars. All doctors participate in an independent validation process we use an external evaluator to check we are maintaining the high levels of clinical care our clients expect.
GenMed is subject to regulation by The Care Quality Commission (formerly the Healthcare Commission HCC) The private medical centres have successfully completed registration and inspection. We are committed to continuous improvement in the delivery of services and regularly survey our patients, aiming always, to improve our patients’ experience.
