The clinical team at GenMed is committed to providing the highest standards of healthcare. Our established GPs offer the 'continuity of care' our patients value.

We are rigorous about clinical standards and our Clinical Director works with the team and external bodies for CPD (Continual Professional Development) programmes to ensure we always offer patients informed treatment choice and promote the latest evidence-based clinical best-practice.

Dr Clive Forman MB BS DRCOG DOcc
MedGroup Clinical Director

Clive has worked for the last thirteen years in private general practice in the City of London. He was senior medical practitioner at the Finsbury Medical Centre before its acquisition by GenMed and was appointed Medical Director of GenMed in March 2006. His role includes ensuring that core values of the medical service provided by the clinical staff are upheld and are of the highest standard. He has overall responsibility for the clinical team across all sites and works closely with the clinical leads at each location in addition to practicing as a GP at Finsbury Healthcare and at Baker Street Medical Centre.

Clive Forman qualified in medicine from Westminster Hospital Medical School in 1984 and entered NHS general practice in 1988. After seven years as a GP principal he left the NHS and joined Finsbury Healthcare in 1995 where he has worked ever since. He has post-graduate qualifications in Obstetrics; Gynaecology as well as Occupational Health and is a registered Oil and Gas UK examining doctor.

Dr Jennifer Saw, Lead Doctor
Fleet Street Medical Centre

After qualifying in 1999 from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, Jen's postgraduate GP training centred on Paediatrics, A+E, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, General Medicine and Care of the Elderly, before becoming a member of The Royal College of General Practitioners in 2003. Jen joined GenMed in 2005, initially at Finsbury Healthcare and now as part of the Fleet Street Medical Centre as Lead Dr in February 2009. She has worked extensively with Chest Medicine, Minor Surgery, Dermatology, Women's Health and Paediatrics, along with having an interest in the field of Substance Misuse. As an NHS GP Appraiser she is up to date with the latest clinical and operational approaches.

Jen grew up in Malaysia and speaks Chinese, Malay and French - her background supports her keen interest in multicultural health issues and beliefs. She enjoys live music, restaurants and her allotment.

Dr Alexandra Harkins
MA MBBS MRCGP DCH DRCOG DFSRH
Lead Doctor, Finsbury Healthcare

Alex is the Lead doctor at Finsbury Healthcare where she has worked since 2001. She undertook her medical training at Christ's College, Cambridge and St Mary's Hospital, Paddington. She is a member of the Royal College of General Practitioners and has particular interests in preventative medicine, women's health and education. Alex gives regular seminars to firms on health related matters. She is experienced in caring for staff in demanding jobs and has excellent links with various private hospitals and specialist colleagues. Alex also does some NHS locum sessions and is an appraiser for the Independent Doctors Forum.

Dr David Parson MB BS DRCOG DOcc Med
Lead Doctor, Tower Hill Medical Centre

David joined GenMed in 2002 as Clinical Director of Tower Hill Medical Centre. He previously gained 10 years' experience as a GP in the NHS as well as two periods working overseas. He moved into the Private Healthcare Sector In 1996 and has wide experience of the corporate and individual medical needs of those working in the City of London.

David holds a Diploma in Occupational Medicine and the Occupational Health team provides for the full range of occupational health issues including pre-placement screening, management of short and long-term sickness absence, advice on ill-health retirement, Oil and Gas UK medicals and all aspects of business travel.

Management Team

During the last decade, GenMed's management team has led the sector in developing commercially viable corporate products and credible patient services, in the highly legislative and dynamic private primary care sector. The team continues to drive the business forwards with a thorough understanding of the unique needs of the primary care market.

Jerry Appleyard
Chief Executive Officer

Jerry Appleyard was appointed as Chief Executive of GenMed in September 2005. He plays a strategic role in overseeing, developing and enhancing the private GP clinics operated by GenMed. He was also closely involved in implementing the contract with the DoH to ensure that the Liverpool Street NHS Walk-in Centre opened in December 2005, on time.

With a background in the retail, hotel and catering sector, he has previously held senior positions with British Waterways and Welcome Break Group Ltd. During this period he gained considerable experience in roles in regulated business and in multi-site service business that called on his sales, marketing and operational skills.

Outside work Jerry is still active in Basketball, Rugby, property development and gardening. However, with 4 children all in competitive sports, most of the time is spent driving.

Ruth Harper
Director of New Business

Ruth started her career as a Life Underwriter with AXA before moving into business development. She has designed business development programmes for organisations in a variety of blue-chip and entrepreneurial environments in the UK and overseas including retail, FMCG brands, financial and professional services and for many leading marketing agencies within London's vibrant creative industry.

Ruth loves good food and supports the Soil Association for organic produce and visits Italy as often as possible, for both the food and the shopping.

Elliott Adams
Finance Director

Joining the business as Finance Director in June 2009, Elliott Adams brings a track record of contributing in high growth SME trading environments, putting scalable infrastructure in place, shaping strategy and providing counsel on all business matters. Elliott's direct responsibilities encompass Finance, Legal and IT.

Before Joining Genmed, Elliott worked as Finance Director of Live Communication Limited, a change management and strategic communications business. Prior to that, Elliott was Finance Controller at Trading Partners Ltd.

Elliott has a BA (Hons) in History from The University of Leeds and qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Macintyre Hudson in 2002.
